Hey there!

My name is Matias Salles, I’m a Software Engineer based in Montevideo, Uruguay. I’m an open-source enthusiast and I love to build and learn new/cool stuff, I’m passionate about engineering as a whole (not only software), music, physics, and philosophy.

Ever since I began my coding journey, I’ve observed many programmers maintaining personal blogs, sharing insights on their projects and various industry-related topics. Initially, I was skeptical, believing that similar information could easily be found online. However, I soon realized that these blogs offer unique perspectives and deep dives that you can’t find just anywhere. The depth and personal touch in these posts have significantly broadened my understanding and fueled my curiosity about software and even random subjects like CPU construction and aerodynamics.

That’s why I created this blog! In communities like ours where most of us tend to learn and focus only on what we need at the time, we usually don’t dedicate time to get a deeper understanding of the tools we are using or even read about other topics. I think short/medium blog posts are somehow a good remedy, making sure we can spend our precious time on what we like once something sparks an interest in us.

You’ll find blog posts about all kinds of topics here! A ton of software-related stuff for sure, but I might also write about some of my side projects, thoughts about being productive at work, or my main takeaways on some cool books I’ve read about philosophy, aerodynamics, and computational physics 😎

PS - Thank you @cotes2020 for creating this awesome Jekyll theme that makes creating a personal blog easier than ever! ❤️
